Current Vintage: 2025
Grape Variety:
100% Shiraz- selected for it’s vibrant fruit expression and natural acidity making it a ideal
choice for crafting a fresh, aromatic Rosé. The grapes were harvested at optimal ripeness to
balance lively red fruit character with refreshing structure. The grapes were hand picked
from a carefully selected vineyard block in the Polkadraai region of Stellenbosch, known for
producing premium- quality fruit. The vineyard sits on predominantly decomposed shale
and Cape sandstone soils, which contribute to excellent drainage and minerality, enchanting
the wine’s freshness and purity of fruit. This terroir, combined with meticulous vineyard
management, results in grapes, with vibrant flavour and balanced acidity- ideal for crafting
an expressive and elegant Rosé.
In the Cellar:
After gentle crushing, the Shiraz grapes underwent a brief two -hour skin contact period,
allowing just enough time to extract the vibrant, alluring pink hue. Fermentation was
carried out slowly and cold- over three weeks at 13°C- to preserve the wine’s delicate
aromatics and fresh fruit character. Post- fermentation, the wine was left on it’s primary
lees, adding a subtle texture and enhancing complexity. This careful process results a crisp,
elegant Rose with a refined and delicate finish.
Tasting Notes:
The Shiraz Rosé presents a beautifully transparent pink hue, inviting and vibrant in the
glass. The nose is fresh and playful offering an enticing bouquet of ripe berries –
strawberries- and cherries- layered with delicate notes of candy floss. On the palate, it
delivers a crisp, refreshing acidity that balances the fruitiness perfectly, making it light yet
flavourful. A lively and youthful Rosé, ideal for warm days and relaxed occasions.
