Grape Varieties:
This distinctive blend of 70% Pinotage and 30% Merlot from the Polkadraai Hills area in Stellenbosch, showcases the best of both varietals and the region’s unique terroir. The vineyards sit predominantly on decompose shale and Cape sandstone soils.
In the Cellar:
Harvested at peak ripeness to amplify fruit expression and to ensure supple tannin structure. Both varieties are vinified separately and matured for 10 months in a combination of French and American oak.
Tasting Notes:
This wine displays vibrant aromas of red cherry, ripe plum, and raspberries, layered with subtle undertones of vanilla, chocolate and a touch of spice. On the palate, the wine is lush and fruit-forward, with silky texture and velvety soft tannins that make it both approachable and refined. The oak aging contributes depth and complexity without overshadowing the fruitiness of the wine. Enjoy now or within the next three years to appreciate its youthful vibrancy and balanced elegance. Ideally paired with barbecue meats, roasted duck, or mushroom risotto. Also, a great companion to aged cheeses or charcaterie.
